Tankfarm was founded by Southern California brothers Mike & John Anderson. As kids, the brothers were making custom t-shirts and fleece out of their grandpa and dad's print shop for extra summer cash. During those summer years the brothers found their passion for the family business. They are 3rd generation printers and take a lot of pride in their work.
It was the pull of the family business that led the brothers to launch Tankfarm Clothing in 2003. The brand is inspired by classic American heritage, style and quality construction. Tankfarm enjoyed immediate success with orders from Fred Segal and Urban Outfitters. Soon after, Tankfarm exploded into a global business. Their brand of
uniquely American Vintage clothing can be found at major retailers including Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Buckle as well as high end boutiques such as Kitson, M. Fredrick, and Glory Sales & Service.
Paying homage to three generations of printing that their Grandfather started, all Tankfarm American made t-shirts are tagged with a signature 1950 photograph of their Grandfather in a "James Dean pose.
Tankfarm's first flagship retail store is in the brothers' hometown of Los Alamitos, California. The Anderson's now plan to open two more stores; one in Hollywood California and the other in Austin Texas.
